Hour of Code
http://studio.code.org/hoc/1
I am excited to invite all Louisiana schools to participate in this initiative December 8th-14th, 2014 during national Computer Science Education Week. I am asking you to encourage your teachers and students to participate in code.org's Hour of Code lesson entitled, "Write your first computer program". With this lesson, students will learn the basic concepts of computer science with drag and drop programming. The lesson is a game-like, self-directed tutorial starring video lectures by Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Angry Birds and Plants vs. Zombies. Students will learn about repeat-loops, conditionals, and basic algorithms. This project is suitable for students ages 4-104; so basically everyone!
